Shaq’s Charitable Efforts Are As Big As He

An innocent bystander to gun violence, 12-year-old Isaiah Payton was left paralyzed from the neck down and unable to return to his family’s one-bedroom handicap inaccessible apartment. Hearing of this, basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal stepped up to the plate and, with the help of Papa John’s CEO Rob Lynch, purchased a brand new wheelchair-accessible house for the family to return to following Payton’s two-month recovery in the hospital.  “We’re going to give her [Payton’s mother] some furniture, TVs and pay her rent off for a year and help her get on her feet.” — Read more at GoodNewsNetwork

J-Lo & A-Rod Are Feeding Elementary Students

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez are donating a year’s worth of meals to students at a Tennessee elementary school.  The couple decided to give meals from their company, Tiller & Hatch, after a teacher at Jacksboro Elementary School took to Facebook to describe an encounter with a student who said he didn’t have food at home. — Read Facebook Post

First Human Test Subject A Success

Diagnosed with a very-early stage form of breast cancer in March 2019, Lee Mercker of Florida opted for treatment in the form of an experimental new breast cancer vaccine at the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville.  Dr. Keith Knutson, from the Mayo Clinic said Mercker’s results were, essentially, what their team had hoped the vaccine would do as it developed out, but it was happening in their very first human test subject.  Mercker, the first patient to participate in a clinical trail for this new breast cancer vaccine, has now also become the first patient to kill off breast cancer. — Read more at Fox5

Historic All-Female Spacewalk
