Team Vibes: Summertime fun

Whether you travel somewhere exciting or make your own fun at home, July is a great month to spend quality time with friends and family…So our team did exactly that!

Must See Vibes

Golden Girl: Relive the moment that Lydia Jacoby wins gold as her friends and family cheer her on from Alaska.

Kindness makes a comeback: Ted Lasso Season 2 returned to Apple TV+ on July 23.  If you haven’t watched Season 1, I recommend this light-hearted show that portrays the power of kindness, humor, and optimism.

What it means to be rich: Ben Carlson, who writes the blog “A Wealth of Common Sense” on wealth management, investments, financial markets and investor psychology shares what being “rich” means to him…and it’s a good reminder for all of us.

The kind of support we all need: We’ve all been the kid in this video.  Can we challenge ourselves to live every day like the crowd at the pool?

Bonus Vibes: Book Recommendation

Former Sixers and New Jersey Devils CEO, Scott O’Neill, shares his story and life lessons about staying present as a parent, friend, coach, and leader.  Be Where Your Feet Are made me pause and reflect about how I’m staying present and grounded.

Positive Vibes

COMMUNITY DAY

Our team spent a morning at Pete’s Produce Farm in West Chester to help harvest, wash, and pack collards, beets, green beans, kale, and mustard greens for the Chester County Food Bank.  We learned about all that goes into providing fresh produce to families in the area, and we had a ton of fun getting our hands dirty.  If you’d like to volunteer to support the Chester County Food Bank, check out the link to their volunteer calendar

OUR NEW NEIGHBOR

This month, a fantastic neighbor moved into the upstairs suite of our building at 940 E Boot Rd.  That neighbor is the non-profit organization, “A Path to Hope.”

A Path to Hope helps local families learn about and gain access to the appropriate mental health resources in the community.  The organization strives to guide parents through the complicated mental healthcare puzzle with education, awareness, and connection, while also challenging the broader community to expand and prioritize mental health resources for children and teens.  Let us know if you’re interested in learning more, and we’d be happy to help you connect with the organization.

FRESH AIR

The Gay Street Open Air-Marketplace is back again this summer with expanded outdoor dining allowing us to visit our favorite locations in downtown West Chester, enjoy the weather, reconnect with friends and family, and support local businesses.  Hopefully we’ll see you out there!

OPTIMISTIC ECONOMICS

While you may see some headlines about US household debt at record highs, these statistics compiled by Ben Carlson suggest that US Household balance sheets looks better than ever.  For a different perspective, check out this “A Wealth of Common Sense” blog for some optimistic economics.

BONUS VIBES: RECOMMENDATION

Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb is a fun page-turning narrative about a therapist, her therapist, her patients, and the lessons we can learn about humanity from all of them.  It’ll draw out every emotion through its hilarious, captivating, and honest storytelling
